A WONDERFUL EARLY 19TH CENTURY SHEET IRON HANGING MINER’S OIL LAMP IN GRUNGY OLD BLACK PAINT.
AMERICAN, CIRCA 1840-1860.
A GREAT EARLY EXAMPLE WITH DOVETAIL SEAMED CONSTRUCTION AND RARE ADDED HANGER AND APPLIED CARRYING HANDLE.
It retains its original iron hanger as well as its screw on top and wick spout.
IT IS IN WONDERFUL OLD GRUNGY BLACK PAINT OVER AN EARLIER WHITE.
A great example for the collector of early lighting as well as the collector of early mining.
6″ tall and 4 1/2″ across the base.
Typical wear and imperfections with age as described above.
